So at the end of week 5, we were all alerted with a message on our university blackboard, informing us of a test, it sounded quite serious and we were told that I would affect our overall grade.
As delighted as I was to hear that it was all a ruse and it wouldn't affect our grade after all, I had spend the entirety of week 6 trying to memorise the major muscles and bone structure of the human anatomy, as we were supposedly going to be tested.
Overall I found this very useful, because it kicked our minds into gear and forced us to start revising the fundamentals of the human anatomy.
When I started sculpting, I understood the technicalities of the human body and how certain muscle groups intertwined, my work was starting to improve and i realised that there was actually a lot wrong with my model. I started working at it again and found myself very pleased with the result.
I will talk more about the sculpture later in the week, this post is more related to the revision that was involved. Below I will show some photographs of the sources I used to gain a better understanding of the human anatomy. I actually enjoyed the revision, because its something I haven't done in a while and challenging the mind is always fun, luckily my flat mate is a biology student so I was constantly beingtested on the human body by him. He helped me out with a sheet of paper displaying the human body and its main muscle groups which i memorised.
I also read my Artistic Anatomy book which specified certain areas of the human anatomy. This allowed me to gain a better understanding of the bones themselves. You will find these sources below.
